Dr. Craig Philip Price (DMA) is a professional singer, professor of voice, and opera scholar. He is a native of South Carolina where he earned a Bachelor of Music in Voice from Furman University. He holds a Master of Music in Voice from Manhattan School of Music, and recently received his doctoral degree in voice from the University of South Carolina.
His DMA document was entitled "Time's Up: How Opera is Facing Its Own Me Too Reckoning" and addressed several problematic standard repertory operas, how they are being handled in interesting ways based on a heightened cultural awareness, and how the opera community can amplify female voices more justly in the future. The document was featured in the March/April 2021 Journal of Singing.
